A few weeks ago, Alicia and I attended several screenings at the Beaufort International Film Festival. We enjoyed everything we saw. And the feature film Long December made me want to write you.
Long December is about a singer-songwriter who feels he must choose between financially taking care of his wife and newborn child or pursuing his dream of being a professional musician. During the month of December, he tries to take one last shot at ‘making it.’ As the trailer spells out, this isn’t the story of an unknown suddenly finding fame and fortune. It’s a meditation on why we make and need art.
